The Scottish and Southern Energy plc (SSE) is planning to undertake the construction of Wind Farms in the UK.The project involves the construction of 348MW wind farm. It will include the construction of a 108MW Bhlaraidh wind farm and a 240MW Stronelairg wind farm.The Bhlaraidh wind farm will install 32 turbines and the Stronelairg wind farm will install 67 turbines.It will include the construction of access roads and substations, the installation of turbines, generators and transformers, and the laying of transmission lines.In April 2013, Stronelairg wind farm received no objection from local politicians.In January 2014, SSE secured planning approval for Bhlaraidh wind farm.On June 6, 2014, SSE secured planning approval for Stronelairg wind farm from the Scottish Government.In October 2015, RJ McLeod was appointed as to carry out enabling works for the Bhlaraidh wind farm. The scope of the works includes site preparation, construction of the on-site substation platform and the main access track.In November 2015, SSE held an open house event for the supply chain.In March 2016, Balfour Beatty was awarded a contract to provide electrical transmission network connections to Bhlaraidh wind farm.In May 2016, RJ McLeod was appointed to carry out civil engineering works for the Bhlaraidh wind farm with contract value US$32 million.On May 4, 2016, the hearing for the Stronelairg wind farm started and completed on May 6, 2016 at the Inner House of the Court of Session in Edinburgh.In July 2016, SSE won the appeal for Stronelairg wind farm.In August 2016, SSE is now undertaking further work to see whether it will be possible to accredit the project under the Renewables Obligation.
