The GlobalData’s HealthTech Influencer Platform, which tracks more than 225 leading global HealthTech experts across the globe and their discussions pertaining to the emerging trends, pain areas, new fields of innovation and other popular areas on Twitter, revealed technology expert and B2B thought leader Evan Kirstel as the top influencer in the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2019.
John Nosta, digital health expert at WHO, was ranked second among HealthTech experts with an influencer score of 64. Bariatric surgery specialist Neil Floch was ranked third with an influencer score of 55.
Among the companies, Fitbit has emerged as the most discussed company, followed by The American Cancer Society and The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society. The conversations on Fitbit among experts were largely led by the news when the company was acquired by Google for US$2.1bn.
In Q4 2019, ‘Healthcare’ emerged as the top trend discussed among the industry experts, followed by ‘Patients’, ‘MHealth’ and ‘Artificial Intelligence’. The conversation on ‘Healthcare’ was largely driven by the topic around ‘Monetising Patient’s’ data, as it is set to be the biggest driver of new business models across the healthcare landscape.
