Allen & Overy and White & Case were the top mergers and acquisitions (M&A) legal advisers in the Middle East & African region during the first quarter (Q1) of 2024 by value and volume, respectively according to the latest legal advisers league table by GlobalData, a leading data and analytics company.
An analysis of GlobalData’s Deals Database revealed that Allen & Overy achieved the leading position in terms of value by advising on $500 million worth of deals. Meanwhile, White & Case led in terms of volume by advising on a total of five deals.
Aurojyoti Bose, Lead Analyst at GlobalData, comments: “White & Case registered improvement in the number of deals advised by it during Q1 2024 compared to Q1 2023. Resultantly, its ranking by volume improved from second position in Q1 2023 to the top position in Q1 2024.
“Apart from leading by volume, White & Case also occupied the fourth position by value in Q1 2024. Similarly, Allen & Overy, which led by value during the quarter, also occupied the eighth position by volume.”

Willkie Farr & Gallagher occupied the second position in terms of value, by advising on $306.2 million worth of deals, followed by Weil, Gotshal & Manges with $250 million, White & Case with $211.2 million and AZB & Partners with $189 million.
Meanwhile, Meitar Law Offices occupied the second position in terms of volume with two deals, followed by King & Spalding with two deals and Naschitz Brandes Amir with two deals.
