Following the news that German multinational chemical company BASF has expanded its Automotive Coatings Application Center in Mangalore, India;

“BASF has posted around 2,900 jobs between January 2021 to May 2022* in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. In the same period, the company posted nearly 190 jobs in India.  GlobalData expects more roles to be added following the expansion of its coating center in Mangalore. BASF also operates product development in Automotive Coating Division based in Shanghai, China. BASF sees opportunities in India’s automotive sector and is expanding to meet the growing demand.

“In 2022*, the company is hiring for managerial, engineering, and sales-related roles in India. GlobalData’s Jobs Analytics database identified that the company posted multiple roles in 2022 before the expansion. One example is a ‘Polymer Scientist -Coatings Technology Centre’ role for its Mangalore, India office that looks at planning and executing laboratory research for the development of resins/ polymers for automotive coatings. BASF is likely to invest more and build its teams in India as it seeks long-term growth opportunities in the country.”
