Conyers Dill & Pearman and CMS were the top mergers and acquisitions (M&A) legal advisers in South & Central America during the first quarter (Q1) of 2026 by value and volume, respectively according to the latest legal advisers league table by GlobalData, a leading intelligence and productivity platform.

An analysis of GlobalData’s Financial Deals Database reveals that Conyers Dill & Pearman achieved the leading position in terms of value by advising on $6.4 billion worth of deals. Meanwhile, CMS led in terms of volume by advising on a total of four deals.

Aurojyoti Bose, Lead Analyst at GlobalData, comments: “CMS was the top adviser by volume in Q1 2025 and managed to retain its leadership position by this metric in Q1 2026 as well.

“Meanwhile, Conyers Dill & Pearman advised on two deals but managed to lead by value primarily driven by its involvement in a single high-value deal worth $6.2 billion. Apart from leading by value, it also held the eighth position by volume during Q1 2026.”

Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom occupied the second position in terms of value, by advising on $6.4 billion worth of deals, followed by Homburger, Lenz & Staehelin and Sullivan & Cromwell, which jointly occupied the third position with each of them advising on a deal worth $6.2 billion.

Meanwhile, Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom occupied the second position in terms of volume with three deals, followed by Simpson Thacher & Bartlett with three deals, Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton with three deals and Baker McKenzie with three deals.
