Goldman Sachs and Bank of America were the top mergers and acquisitions (M&A) financial advisers in the South & Central America region during first three quarters (Q1-Q3) of 2026 by value and volume, respectively, according to the latest financial advisers league table by GlobalData, a leading intelligence and productivity platform.
An analysis of GlobalData’s Deals Database reveals that Goldman Sachs achieved the leading position in terms of value by advising on $10.4 billion worth of deals. Meanwhile, Bank of America led in terms of volume by advising on a total of five deals.
Aurojyoti Bose, Lead Analyst at GlobalData, comments: “There was more than double-fold jump year-on-year (YoY) in the total value of deals advised by Goldman Sachs during Q1-Q3 2026, and its ranking by value improved from fourth to the top position. The involvement in two billion-dollar deals* helped it lead by value. Goldman Sachs also held the second position by volume.
“Similarly, Bank of America witnessed improvement in the total number of deals it advised on and resultantly went ahead from occupying the eighth position by volume during Q1-Q3 2025 to top the chart. Coincidently, it also held the second position by value.”

Bank of America occupied the second position in terms of value, by advising on $4.8 billion worth of deals, followed by Alvarez & Marsal with $4.2 billion, UBS with $3 billion and PJT Partners with $3 billion.
Meanwhile, Goldman Sachs occupied the second position in terms of volume with four deals, followed by Barclays with four deals, Rothschild & Co with four deals and UBS with three deals.
