Goldman Sachs and UBS were the top mergers and acquisitions (M&A) financial advisers in the South & Central American region in 2024 by value and volume, respectively, according to the latest financial advisers league table by GlobalData, a leading data and analytics company.

An analysis of GlobalData’s Deals Database has revealed that Goldman Sachs achieved its leading position in terms of value by advising on $12.7 billion worth of deals. Meanwhile, UBS led in terms of volume by advising on a total of 12 deals.

Aurojyoti Bose, Lead Analyst at GlobalData, comments: “UBS was the only adviser with a double-digit deal volume in 2024. Interestingly, it was also the top adviser by value during the previous year as well. Apart from leading by volume, UBS also occupied the second position by value in 2024.

“Similarly, Goldman Sachs was the top adviser by value in 2023 and also managed to retain its leadership position by this metric in 2024 as well. In fact, it was the only adviser that managed to surpass $10 billion in total deal value during the year. Apart from leading by value, Goldman Sachs also occupied the third position by volume in 2024.”

UBS occupied the second position in terms of value, by advising on $4.1 billion worth of deals, followed by JP Morgan with $2.1 billion, Rothschild & Co with $1.9 billion, and Bank of America with $1.9 billion.

Meanwhile, Rothschild & Co occupied the second position in terms of volume with eight deals, followed by Goldman Sachs with six deals, JP Morgan with four deals, and Morgan Stanley with three deals.
