Job postings related to hybrid work rose by 14% in Q3 2022 over Q2 2022, finds GlobalData

New job postings for ‘hybrid work’, where employees split their time between a workplace and working from home, increased by 14% in Q3 2022 over Q2 2022, according to GlobalData, a leading data and analytics company.

GlobalData’s latest report, ‘Global Hiring Activity – Trends & Signals Q3 2022’, reveals that around 3,000 companies posted jobs related to ‘hybrid work’ during the quarter. The research identified that posted jobs for ‘remote work’ declined by 4% while ‘work from home’ job postings declined by 11%.

Sherla Sriprada, Business Fundamentals Analyst at GlobalData, comments: “Work from home jobs have been declining as the pandemic eases and companies are embracing the new normal by opting for a hybrid work model.”

Industries that saw a decline in remote work job postings in Q3 2022 over Q2 2022 were technology (by 21%), automotive (35%) and construction (11%). However, aerospace and defense, retail, power, and oil and gas witnessed an increase in remote work job postings by 32%, 26%, 17%, and 16%, respectively. Companies that were posting remote work roles include Raytheon Technologies, Amazon.com Inc, and Siemens AG.

Hybrid work job postings in travel and tourism, foodservice, banking and payments, construction, and retail increased by 48%, 44%, 28%, 17%, and 14%, respectively, in Q3 2022 over Q2 2022, whereas job postings in technology dropped by 8%. Companies that were posting jobs offering a hybrid working model include Marriott International, Compass Group, Wells Fargo & Co, and Target Corp.
