JP Morgan and KPMG top M&A financial advisers in construction sector during 2023, reveals GlobalData

JP Morgan and KPMG were the top mergers and acquisitions (M&A) financial advisers in the construction sector in 2023 by value and volume, respectively, according to the latest financial advisers league table by GlobalData, which ranks financial advisers by the value and volume of M&A deals on which they advised.,

Based on its Deals Database, the leading data and analytics company reveals that JP Morgan achieved its leading position in terms of value by advising on $55.8 billion worth of deals. Meanwhile, KPMG led in terms of volume by advising on a total of 17 deals.

Aurojyoti Bose, Lead Analyst at GlobalData, comments: “JP Morgan was the clear winner in terms of value, as it was the only adviser to have advised on deals worth more than $50 billion during 2023. More than half of the deals advised by it during the year were billion-dollar deals*. JP Morgan advised on nine billion-dollar deals, which also included two mega deals valued more than $10 billion.

“Apart from leading by value, JP Morgan also gave close competition for the top position by volume and missed it by a whisker. While KPMG managed to lead the chart by volume, JP Morgan occupied the second spot by this metric.”

An analysis of GlobalData’s Deals Database reveals that JP Morgan occupied the second position in terms of volume with 16 deals, followed by Lazard with 16 deals, PwC with 16 deals, and Generational Group with 16 deals.

Meanwhile, Wells Fargo occupied the second position in terms of value, by advising on $33.3 billion worth of deals, followed by Bank of America with $20.9 billion, Citi with $20.6 billion, and Goldman Sachs with $18 billion.
