JP Morgan and Lazard were the top mergers and acquisitions (M&A) financial advisers in the automotive sector for H1 2022 by value and volume, respectively, according to the latest financial advisers league table by GlobalData.
Based on its Financial Deals Database, the leading data and analytics company has revealed that JP Morgan achieved its leading position by value by advising on $10.8 billion worth of deals. Meanwhile, Lazard led by volume by advising on a total of four deals.
According to GlobalData’s report, ‘Global and Automotive M&A Report Financial Adviser League Tables H1 2022’, a total of 500 M&A deals worth $35.6 billion were announced in the automotive sector during H1 2022.
Aurojyoti Bose, Lead Analyst at GlobalData, comments: “JP Morgan was the only firm to surpass the $10 billion mark in total deal value. However, the firm missed the top position by volume by a whisker, falling short of just one deal. On the other hand, Lazard, apart from leading by volume, occupied the third position by value.”

An analysis of GlobalData’s Financial Deals Database reveals that Citi occupied the second position by value, by advising on $8.7 billion worth of deals, followed by Lazard with $7.9 billion, Rothschild & Co with $7.8 billion and Bank of America with $7.5 billion.
Meanwhile, JP Morgan occupied the second position in terms of volume with three deals, followed by Citi with three deals, Rothschild & Co with three deals and Bank of America with three deals.
