JP Morgan and Rothschild & Co were the top mergers and acquisitions (M&A) financial advisers in the construction sector in 2022 by value and volume, respectively, according to the latest financial advisers league table by GlobalData, which ranks financial advisers by the value and volume of M&A deals on which they advised.
Based on its Financial Deals Database, the leading data and analytics company has revealed that JP Morgan achieved its leading position in terms of value by advising on $128.7 billion worth of deals. Meanwhile, Rothschild & Co led in volume terms by advising on a total of 32 deals.
Aurojyoti Bose, Lead Analyst at GlobalData, comments: “Rothschild & Co was the only adviser that managed to advise on more than 30 deals in 2022 and was the clear winner by volume with the firm occupying the second position by this metric trailing by 11 deals. Moreover, Rothschild & Co also registered improvement in deals volume as well as ranking in 2022 compared to the previous year.”
“Meanwhile, JP Morgan experienced a decline in total deal value but still managed to retain its leadership position by value in 2022. Besides, it faced close competition from Goldman Sachs. JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs were the only advisers with more than $100 billion in total deal value.”

An analysis of GlobalData’s Financial Deals Database reveals that Goldman Sachs occupied the second position in terms of value, by advising on $123.1 billion worth of deals, followed by Citi with $94 billion, Bank of America with $81 billion and Morgan Stanley with $56.2 billion.
Meanwhile, PwC occupied the second position in terms of volume with 21 deals, followed by JP Morgan with 20 deals, Goldman Sachs with 19 deals, and Clearwater International with 17 deals.
