Latham & Watkins and White & Case were the top mergers and acquisitions (M&A) legal advisers in the automotive sector during 2025 by value and volume, respectively, according to the latest legal advisers league table by GlobalData, a leading intelligence and productivity platform.
GlobalData’s Financial Deals Database has revealed that Latham & Watkins achieved the leading position in terms of value by advising on $9 billion worth of deals. Meanwhile, White & Case led in terms of volume by advising on a total of 12 deals.
Aurojyoti Bose, Lead Analyst at GlobalData, comments: “White & Case was the only adviser to hit double-digit deal volume during 2025. Meanwhile, Latham & Watkins, which advised on much lesser number of deals, led the chart by value. This could be attributed to its involvement in Terex-REV Group M&A deal worth around $9 billion. Latham & Watkins stood at sixth position in 2025 deal volume ranking.”

An analysis of GlobalData’s Financial Deals Database reveals that Davis Polk & Wardwell, Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson, Pryor Cashman and Sullivan & Cromwell jointly occupied the second position in terms of value, with each of them advising on a deal worth $9 billion.
Meanwhile, CMS occupied the second position in terms of volume with nine deals, followed by DLA Piper with seven deals, Baker McKenzie with seven deals, and Jones Day with six deals.
