Low Code-related job postings up by 59% in 2022, finds GlobalData

Job postings related to low code increased by 59% in 2022 over 2021, with the number of postings rising from 11,581 in 2021 to 18,449 in 2022, says GlobalData. The leading data and analytics company found that low code technology has emerged as a fundamental interest for companies when it comes to hiring.

Sherla Sriprada, Analyst at GlobalData, comments: “Low code/ no code technology is being used by companies to develop products and solutions that will digitize the business process as well as build and modify applications to meet the growing demand for quicker application delivery. In 2023, it’s expected that the utilization of business intelligence tools will increase even more with new job postings.”

An analysis of GlobalData’s Job Analytics Database found that around 23 jobs were posted for newly created roles in 2022. Entegris Inc’s newly created ‘Lead Developer- Microsoft Power Platform/RPA’ role will lead the development, architecture, and governance efforts for the Microsoft Power Platform and RPA initiatives and requires experience in power platform low code applications. Another role by Reltio Inc for a ‘IT Master Database Management Administrator’, would look at creating and deploying Master Data Management (MDM) recipes and low code programming in the company’s internal system, R360. Other technology companies such as Amazon, Accenture, CGI Group, and Digital Workforce Services are looking for technical expertise in no code/low code.

The Boston Consulting Group’s role for a ‘DigitalBCG | Associate Director – Global Tech Platforms’ is a newly created position which aims to build a new line of business in low code/no code cloud-based implementation solutions. Meanwhile, the ‘Risk Supervision & Oversight Senior Vice President’ role by Citigroup, would look at articulating solutions vs current state for digitization, automation, low code solutions, and straight through processing.
