Paul Hastings and TriLegal were the top mergers and acquisitions (M&A) legal advisers in the Asia-Pacific region during 2025 by value and volume, respectively, according to the latest legal advisers league table by GlobalData, a leading intelligence and productivity platform.

GlobalData’s Financial Deals Database revealed that Paul Hastings achieved its leading position in terms of value by advising on $24.2 billion worth of deals. Meanwhile, TriLegal led in terms of volume by advising on a total of 65 deals.

Aurojyoti Bose, Lead Analyst at GlobalData, comments: “TriLegal was the top adviser by volume in 2024 and managed to retain its leadership position by this metric in 2025 as well. Despite witnessing a year-on-year drop in the number of deals advised by it, TriLegal remained well ahead of peers in terms of volume.

“Meanwhile, Paul Hastings advised on relatively much lesser number of deals but managed to top the chart by value. Involvement in $22.8 billion deal for the acquisition of stake in ports from CK Hutchison Holdings and Panama Ports by a consortium of investors played a crucial role for Paul Hastings in securing the top position by value.”

An analysis of GlobalData’s Deals Database reveals that Sidley Austin occupied the second position in terms of value, by advising on $18.7 billion worth of deals, followed by Clifford Chance with $17.5 billion, Norton Rose Fulbright with $14.3 billion, and Sullivan & Cromwell with $13.4 billion.

Meanwhile, AZB & Partners occupied the second position in terms of volume with 47 deals, followed by Baker McKenzie with 40 deals, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas with 39 deals and Khaitan & Co with 29 deals.
