Pinheiro Neto Advogados and Bronstein, Zilberberg, Chueiri & Potenza Advogados were the top mergers and acquisitions (M&A) legal advisers in the South & Central American region in Q1 2023 by value and volume, respectively, according to the latest Legal Advisers League Table by GlobalData, which ranks legal advisers by the value and volume of M&A deals on which they advised.

Based on its Financial Deals Database, the leading data and analytics company reveals that Pinheiro Neto Advogados achieved its leading position in terms of value by advising on $776 million worth of deals. Meanwhile, Bronstein, Zilberberg, Chueiri & Potenza Advogados led in terms of volume by advising on a total of six deals.

Aurojyoti Bose, Lead Analyst at GlobalData, comments: “Pinheiro Neto Advogados witnessed a significant jump in terms of total deal value in Q1 2023 compared to Q1 2022. Resultantly, it went ahead from occupying the 28^th position by value in Q1 2022 to leading the chart by this metric in Q1 2023. It also occupied the 10^th position by volume.

“Meanwhile, Bronstein, Zilberberg, Chueiri & Potenza Advogados, which occupied the top position by volume in Q1 2022, managed to retain its leadership position by this metric in Q1 2023 as well. It also occupied the ninth position by value.”

An analysis of GlobalData’s Financial Deals Database reveals that Pinheiro Guimaraes occupied the second position in terms of value, by advising on $749 million worth of deals, followed by Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough with $250 million, Paul Hastings with $247 million, and Tauil & Chequer Advogados with $152 million.

Meanwhile, Veirano Advogados occupied the second position in terms of volume with four deals, followed by Lefosse Advogados with four deals, Souto Correa Advogados with four deals, and Paul Hastings with three deals.
