Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom and Veirano Advogados were the top mergers and acquisitions (M&A) legal advisers in the South & Central American region during 2025 by value and volume, respectively according to the latest legal advisers league table by GlobalData, a leading intelligence and productivity platform.
An analysis of GlobalData’s Financial Deals Database reveals that Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom achieved the leading position in terms of value by advising on $11.2 billion worth of deals. Meanwhile, Veirano Advogados led in terms of volume by advising on a total of 17 deals.
Aurojyoti Bose, Lead Analyst at GlobalData, comments: “Veirano Advogados was one of only three advisers to record double-digit deal volume in 2025. Notably, Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom was also among this trio and apart from leading by value, secured the third position by volume. Meanwhile, Veirano Advogados narrowly missed touching the 20-deal mark during the year.”

Posse Herrera & Ruiz Abogados occupied the second position in terms of volume with 13 deals, followed by Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom with 10 deals, Marval O’Farrell & Mairal with seven deals and Mayer Brown with six deals.
Meanwhile, A&O Shearman occupied the second position in terms of value, by advising on $11 billion worth of deals, followed by Kirkland & Ellis with $9 billion, Mayer Brown with $3.4 billion and Baker Botts with $3.4 billion.
