Meta Platforms, Inc (Meta), formerly known as Facebook, Inc (Facebook) has suffered the biggest single-day slide with more than 26% loss in the market value recently, as the company missed the quarterly earnings expectation. Even though, investors are bitterly disappointed with the historic fall in market value, several Twitter influencers expect the tech giant to recover strongly in the near-term, according to the Social Media Analytics Platform of GlobalData, a leading data and analytics company.

Smitarani Tripathy, Social Media Analyst at GlobalData, comments: “Social media conversations around Meta surged by more than 100% in the first week of February compared to the previous week, following the wipe out of US$230bn in its biggest one-day plunge of its market value. However, several Twitter influencers are optimistic and suggest investors buy at current levels, as they see prices to recover in the near-term.”

“#Facebook turns 19 today (Feb 4). The $ 200 billion wipeout in its parent #Meta’s market value a day earlier is symbolic of stepping into adulthood. It has to grow steadily instead of randomly displaying bursts of energy & optimism Like most people stepping out of their teens”

  1. Brian Jones, Individual Trader:

To me $FB is a great opportunity to buy at these levels in the high $240.’s
I don’t see much risk in holding for the next month or so.”

  1. Adam Townsend, Investor:

“Whoever is saying $FB is dying is either trying to spook retail shareholders to sell so they can buy cheap stock or is emotionally unwell and shouldn’t be on tv”

  1. Tom Hearden Senior Trader at Skylands Capital:

“Saved you click. We reiterate our buy $FB ?”

  1. Scott Redler, Chief Strategic Officer at T3Live.com

“$fb $195-$205 is probably the long term macro level to buy in time.”

“I remember a time when growth in the # of iPhones sold peaked

Apple responded by stopping publishing those stats

Some said Apple’s days of revenue growth are over & the stock tanked

Fast forward a few years, it’s all been forgotten

Today, it’s Meta $FB in the hot seat”
