UBS top M&A financial adviser for Asia-Pacific region in 2023

UBS was the top mergers and acquisitions (M&A) financial adviser in the Asia-Pacific region in 2023 in terms of both value and volume, according to the latest financial advisers league table by GlobalData, a leading data and analytics company.

An analysis of GlobalData’s Deals Database reveals that UBS achieved the leading position by advising on 32 deals worth $27.7 billion.

Aurojyoti Bose, Lead Analyst at GlobalData, comments: “UBS was the top adviser by volume in 2022 as well. Meanwhile, its ranking by value took a massive jump and it went ahead from occupying the 27th position in 2022 to top the chart in 2023. UBS advised on seven billion-dollar deals* that also included one mega deal valued more than $10 billion. Against this backdrop, UBS registered a 123.5% jump in the total value of deals advised in 2023 compared to 2022.”

JP Morgan occupied the second position in terms of value, by advising on $26.1 billion worth of deals, followed by Citi with $21.8 billion, Gresham Advisory Partners with $20.2 billion and Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group with $14.6 billion.

Meanwhile, Moelis & Company occupied the second position in terms of volume with 20 deals, followed by PwC with 16 deals, Rothschild & Co with 14 deals and Ernst & Young with 14 deals.
