LONDON, 30 July 2026: GlobalData Healthcare, the pharmaceutical and life sciences intelligence arm of GlobalData Plc, today announced that its proprietary intelligence datasets are now accessible directly inside Claude, Anthropic’s AI assistant, ChatGPT and Gemini, through GlobalData’s Data MCP.
Integrations with Microsoft Copilot and Perplexity follow as part of the same rollout, giving pharma, biotech and life sciences teams a choice of AI environment without changing how they already work.
Meeting pharma teams where they work
Drug development and commercial teams have long relied on GlobalData Healthcare’s intelligence, including pipeline and clinical trials data, to make fast, well-informed decisions. MCP adds a new way to reach that same intelligence: teams can now ask Claude a question, such as tracking a phase 3 oncology program or comparing pipeline activity in a therapy area, and receive a structured, sourced answer drawn directly from GlobalData Healthcare’s live datasets, alongside the platform, exports and analyst support they already use today.
Neil Dodgson, Chief Digital and Product Officer at GlobalData Healthcare, says: “Healthcare companies are already building AI into their core workflows, and the decisions they make now about what data sits behind those tools will shape how well they perform for years to come. MCP is quickly becoming the standard for connecting AI to external data, so we want our intelligence already there and ready to use when healthcare teams build these workflows. As AI models keep improving, the real differentiator will be the data behind them, and that is where our proprietary intelligence stands apart.”
What clients are telling us
The launch follows a recent GlobalData Healthcare webinar, where pharmaceutical and life sciences customers shared how well AI has met their expectations for unlocking value from their data. Only one in five said it had fully met or exceeded expectations, a sign of how much headroom remains for AI to deliver on its promise in this industry. GlobalData Healthcare hears the same from clients directly: the technology is ready, the opportunity now is making sure it can reach trustworthy, structured data behind every answer.
Removing the barrier for pharma teams
Nick Bennett, Global Head of Direct Data Solutions at GlobalData Healthcare, says: “We have seen this gap up close in conversations with our own customers. Teams are already using Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini every day, they just have not had a reliable way to bring pharmaceutical grade intelligence into those tools. Connecting GlobalData Healthcare directly to these tools removes that barrier. For a team, that means getting a sourced pharma answer in the tool they already work in, without switching platforms or waiting on a separate export”.
Built for pharma, not adapted for it
GlobalData Healthcare’s MCP connection draws on the same proprietary pharma intelligence used across Direct Data Solutions, covering drug pipeline and clinical trials data, built and maintained by a global team of 700+ researchers and analysts rather than scraped from public sources. Every query is authenticated against a client’s existing entitlements, with a full audit trail behind each answer. Further data domains will extend to MCP in the coming months as part of GlobalData’s wider rollout.
Access to GlobalData Healthcare’s pharma intelligence via Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini is available to Direct Data Solutions clients as part of GlobalData’s continued expansion of AI native delivery. Existing Direct Data Solutions clients can request access through their account manager.
