China assisted reproductive technology devices market to grow at 5% CAGR through 2033, forecasts GlobalData

With the growing rate of infertility in today’s world, assisted reproductive technology (ART) devices play a crucial role in addressing this issue worldwide. Factors such as delayed childbearing, lifestyle changes, environmental factors, and medical conditions contribute to the increasing need for ART interventions. Against this background, the ART devices market in China is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5% through 2033, forecasts GlobalData, a leading data and analytics Company.

GlobalData’ s report, “Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) Devices Market Size by Segments, Share, Regulatory, Reimbursement, Procedures and Forecast to 2033,” reveals that China accounted for around 40% of the Asia-Pacific ART devices market in 2023.

Soumya Shraddhya Paul, Medical Devices Analyst at GlobalData, comments: “In terms of total number of ART cycles, China leads the market, followed by the US and Japan. Despite having a smaller percentage of its female population undergoing these procedures compared to countries such as the US or Japan, China’s large population contributes to its overall market size.”

FUJIFILM Irvine Scientific Inc expanded its ART product portfolio in China earlier this year, addressing the growing demand for media solutions and technical support in in vitro fertilization (IVF) workflows. With approval from the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA), the company now offers embryo culture media, including continuous single culture complete, along with embryo culture oil and Arctic sperm cryopreservation solution, completing its IVF andrology product portfolio in China.

Paul concludes: “With the removal of China’s previous ‘One Child Policy’ and the government’s initiatives to boost birth rates, the growing market for ART devices is assured to thrive. These innovations offer significant assistance to individuals in China facing challenges with conception, aligning with the nation’s efforts to promote population growth.”
