Japan robotic surgical systems market to reach $175 million in 2033, forecasts GlobalData

Robotic surgical systems represent the pinnacle of surgical innovation, merging advanced robotics with artificial intelligence (AI) to provide surgeons with unprecedented control and visualization during procedures. This technological advancement is driving significant market growth worldwide. Against this background, Japan’s robotic surgical systems market is expected to reach $175 million in 2033, forecasts GlobalData, a leading data and analytics company.Top of Form

GlobalData’s report Robotic Surgical Systems Market Size by Segments, Share, Regulatory, Reimbursement, Installed Base and Forecast to 2033 reveals that Japan was the second-largest country in the Asia-Pacific Robotic Surgery Systems market, with a significant 25% market share in 2023.

Aditi Dakshesh Parikh, Medical Devices Analyst at GlobalData, comments, “In a landscape where technological innovation plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of healthcare, leveraging AI algorithms and its integration in the visualization of robotic surgeries has led to the restructuring of the surgical workflows, minimizing complications and optimizing patient outcomes. This synergy of robotic technology and AI has not only streamlined surgical workflows but also elevated safety standards to a level of recognition long associated with Japan.”

Anaut Inc., a Tokyo-based medical technology company, has recently announced the regulatory approval of its AI-powered surgical visualization tool, Eureka, in Japan. This software analyses real-time video from laparoscopic and robotic surgical procedures, elevating surgeons’ accuracy by highlighting the dissection planes characterized by connective tissue. This will allow surgeons to view complex anatomical structures and focus on micro-structures unique to each patient.

In addition to this, Eureka offers an auxiliary monitor view distinct from the primary surgical display to enhance the surgeon’s visual perspective for optimal performance. It will continue to evolve through deep learning from a vast number of surgical videos and progressively broaden its range of analyzable surgeries.

Parikh concludes: “The future holds great promise for further enhancements in precision, efficiency, and patient outcomes. Capitalizing on the success of robotics surgical systems, the future of surgical care is set to reach new heights.”
