X-ray systems market in China set to grow at 9% CAGR through 2030, forecasts GlobalData

China-based Medwish.com, one of the largest global marketplaces for medical equipment, has recently announced that it would expand its digital X-ray business across the globe. Against this backdrop, China’s X-ray systems market is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of approximately 9% by 2030, forecasts GlobalData, a leading data and analytics company.

The announcement follows the recent launch of Medwish.com’s new portable medical digital X-ray imaging machine, which is currently available in healthcare facilities. Through its City Partner Program, Medwish.com aims to develop a core point of contact for its digital X-ray business, primarily in the central cities of Africa, Asia, and America. The City Partner Program coordinates with the local customers to fulfil their purchase and service requirements.

Ayshi Ganguly, Medical Devices Analyst at GlobalData, comments: “China will continue to dominate the Asia-Pacific (APAC) digital X-ray systems market, accounting for approximately 50% of the market through 2030, followed by Japan and India.”

With the growing dependence of orthopedic disorders and malignancies on X-ray-aided diagnosis, there is an increasing demand for digital radiology over traditional radiography as it offers advantages such as hassle-free screening resulting in higher image quality with minimal radiation dosage.

Ganguly concludes: “Companies such as Canon Inc and Fujifilm Holdings Corp have recently introduced new wireless and portable digital radiography devices that provide better functionality and performance. With such continuous innovations being made in this field, the APAC medical imaging industry will surely witness a paradigm shift in the coming years.”
