Iran is set to lead the styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) capacity additions in the Middle East, contributing to 100% of the region’s capacity additions in 2026, says GlobalData, a leading data and analytics company.
GlobalData’s latest report, “Styrene-Butadiene-Rubber (SBR) Industry Installed Capacity and Capital Expenditure (CapEx) Market, 2022-2026”, reveals that Iran is expected to add a capacity of 0.14 mtpa from one planned project by 2026.
Sudarshini Ennelli, Oil and Gas Analyst at GlobalData, comments: “In Iran, Sadaf Petrochemical Assaluyeh SBR plant located in Bushehr is the only planned project, adding a capacity of 0.14 mtpa.”
“The plant is expected to commence operations by 2022 and is operated by Sadaf Petrochemical Assaluyeh Co. The project uses Versalis SBR technology to produce SBR.”
