The total mobile services revenue in Taiwan is forecast to increase at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 1.8%, from $6.3 billion in 2025 to $6.9 billion in 2030, mainly supported by an increase in 5G subscriptions and the rising adoption of premium mobile data services, according to GlobalData, a leading intelligence and productivity platform.
GlobalData’s Taiwan Mobile Broadband Forecast (Q1 2026) reveals that mobile voice services revenue will decline at a CAGR of 9.9% between 2025 and 2030 due to declining voice average revenue per user (ARPU) levels, resulting from a growing user preference for OTT/Internet-based communication platforms.
Mobile data services revenue, on the other hand, will increase at a CAGR of 4.1% over the same period, driven by the projected rise in the adoption of higher ARPU-5G services.
Kantipudi Pradeepthi, Telecom Analyst at GlobalData, comments: “The average monthly mobile data usage is expected to increase from 35.8 GB in 2025 to about 43.5 GB in 2030, driven by the growing consumption of high-bandwidth online entertainment and social media content on smartphones.”
5G subscriptions hold the majority share of total mobile subscriptions in Taiwan in 2025 and are expected to account for over 94% of total mobile subscriptions in 2030, mainly due to the increasing availability and adoption of 5G-enabled smartphones and the ongoing 5G network expansions by operators. For instance, Taiwan Mobile extended a deal with Nokia in July 2026 to expand 5G services in the country.
Pradeepthi concludes: “Chunghwa led the mobile services market by subscription share in Taiwan as of 2025, followed by Taiwan Mobile and FarEasTone. Chunghwa will retain its leading position through 2030, supported by further expansion of its 5G network and its strong focus on accelerating 5G service adoption over its network by offering flexible pricing plans and diversified mobile value-added services such as music, movies, TV, and cloud gaming.”
