In September 2025, Verizon Business held an ‘Innovation Session’ for enterprise, small business, and public sector customers, its fourth of six for the year. Although the event was valuable, Verizon Business could position itself more effectively at future events by placing greater emphasis on advantages the company holds over competitors, its customer support capabilities, and the ways the company goes beyond merely providing technology and supports business outcomes, according to GlobalData, a leading data and analytics company.
Gregg Willsky, Principal Analyst, Enterprise Technology & Services at GlobalData, comments: “Although debatably innovative, the technologies were definitely diverse and impressive, and underscore Verizon’s position as a leader in networking. Currently, a company’s greatest asset is its network, helping it run more efficiently and cost-effectively. Therefore, partnering with the right networking vendor is critical.”
Attendees learned how Verizon’s network capabilities spanning 5G network slicing, global IoT, next-generation wireless, and cybersecurity can enhance business operations. Each of the technology areas has generated genuine market momentum and opportunity for Verizon Business.
The company’s first 5G network slicing offer was launched only nine months ago but has more than 100,000 users, while an offer for first responders launched in April 2025 already has over 25 engagements in 13 US states. In global IoT, Verizon Business is participating in a market it expects to nearly triple with an estimated 1.3 billion connections in 2024, expanding to 3.6 billion in 2030, while the satellite IoT segment is expected to reach 22.7 million connections at a 12% CAGR through 2030.
Willsky adds: “With next generation wireless, the company is supporting digital transformation initiatives, which have been mushrooming in number across all industries. On the cybersecurity front, the annual Verizon Data Breach Investigations Report (DBIR) continues to be a source of great insight regarding the volume and nature of cyberattacks, while the company’s network visibility capabilities enable customers to anticipate and counteract emerging threats sooner; both tools make Verizon Business well equipped to address customers’ security concerns which continue to mount.”
Overall, the event furnished an in-depth view of Verizon’s network capabilities. The agenda included information sessions, product demos, customer testimonials, and a dollop of executive sound bites.
Willsky concludes: “Verizon Business has demonstrated great dexterity with expertise in multiple technology areas and is therefore in a good place to continue its market momentum and take advantage of new opportunities.”
