GlobalData expects that the construction industry in Uzbekistan to expand by 7.2% in real terms in 2026, supported by investments in transport and renewable energy projects, coupled with increase in foreign direct investment (FDI). According to the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics, the construction industry’s value-add grew by 13.3% year on year (YoY) in Q4 2025, preceded by Y-o-Y growth rates of 20.2% in Q3 and 10.7% in Q2 2025. According to the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan, the total volume of foreign investment utilized in Uzbekistan reached UZS546.6 trillion ($43.1 billion) in 2025, a 24% growth compared to the previous year.
Over the remainder of the forecast period, Uzbekistan’s construction industry is expected to register an average annual growth rate of 5.5% from 2027 to 2030, supported by public and private sector investments in transport, industrial, and renewable energy projects, coupled with the government’s aim to significantly expand its total power generation capacity from 20GW as of mid-2025 to 55GW by 2035. In December 2025, the country’s President announced that the government started the construction of 42 new generation, storage, and production facilities worth a total of UZS139.5 trillion ($11 billion), which is a part of a nationwide strategy to strengthen the country’s energy system. These projects include 16 solar, wind, thermal, and hydroelectric power plants worth UZS41.9 trillion ($3.3 billion) and with a combined capacity of 3,500MW, located in Karakalpakstan, and the Bukhara, Kashkadarya, and Tashkent regions.
