Diversity, equity, and inclusivity (DEI) in an organization help bring inimitable outlooks and ideas to create more advanced, productive, and robust enterprises. It also contributes to equality of occasion and behavior in the workplace at all stages of the employment relationship, including recruitment, retention, promotion, remuneration, and access to exercise and skills development.

Due to global labour mobility, the gender gap in organizations has shrunk over the past three decades. The growing awareness supports an open and inclusive workplace where all employees, regardless of their sexual orientation or ethnicity, have a right to a dignified and respectful workplace. However, COVID-19's impact on the labour market has had catastrophic effects everywhere. In 2020, women's employment decreased globally by 5%, while men's employment decreased by about 4%, according to the International Labour Organization (ILO).

The technology industry is working towards closing the gender gap and enhancing inclusivity in the years ahead. Technology companies must create flexible work and well-being programs such as free mental health counseling and childcare to promote positive work culture.
