Of the 167 deals, the deal secured between CNH Industrial NV and Raven Industries Inc, was the largest M&A deal in the Global Agriculture & Forestry sector, which was valued at $2,100.0 million and was completed on June 21, 2021. The second-largest deal was between SalMar ASA and Norway Royal Salmon ASA, while the third-largest deal was between NTS ASA and Norway Royal Salmon ASA. The SalMar ASA-Norway Royal Salmon ASA deal and the NTS ASA-Norway Royal Salmon ASA deal were valued at $1,320.8 million and $1,272.8 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between NRS Farming AS-Salmonor AS valued at $939.2 million, whereas the deal between Suzano SA-Parkia BA Participacoes; Parkia ES Participacoes; Parkia MS Participacoes; Parkia SP Participacoes; Vitex BA Participacoes; Vitex ES Participacoes; Vitex MS Participacoes; Vitex SP Participacoes valued at $667.0 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $6,299.7 million and accounted for nearly 37.63% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. By region, Europe accounted for 42.24% of the total M&A deals done globally, and recorded a total deal value of $7,079.8 million, which accounted for 23.64% of the total deal size on a global scale.
