Of the 156 deals, the deal secured between AMF Pensionsforsakring AB; AP1; Baillie Gifford & Co; Baron Capital Management; Bridford Investments Limited; Compagnia di San Paolo; Cristina Stenbeck; Daniel Ek; EIT InnoEnergy; Fourth Swedish National Pension Fund; Goldman Sachs Asset Management LP; IMAS Foundation; Norrsken VC; OMERS Capital Markets; PCS Holding AG; Scania AB; Second Swedish National Pension Fund; Stena Metall AB; The Third Swedish National Pension Fund (Tredje AP-fonden); Volkswagen AG and Northvolt AB, was the largest Private Equity/Venture Financing deal in the Europe Automotive sector, which was valued at $2,750.0 million and was completed on June 9, 2021. The second-largest deal was between KKR & Co Inc; Sprint BidCo B.V; Teslin Alpine Acquisition B.V and Accell Group N.V., while the third-largest deal was between Macquarie European Infrastructure Fund 6 and RoadChef Motorways Ltd. The KKR & Co Inc; Sprint BidCo B.V; Teslin Alpine Acquisition B.V-Accell Group N.V. deal and the Macquarie European Infrastructure Fund 6-RoadChef Motorways Ltd deal were valued at $2,007.2 million and $1,200.3 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between BlackRock Inc-IONITY GmbH valued at $787.3 million, whereas the deal between The Saudi Public Investment Fund-McLaren Group Ltd valued at $761.6 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $7,506.5 million and accounted for nearly 53.73% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. The Europe region accounted for 23.78% of the total Private Equity/Venture Financing deals done globally, and accounted for 9.80% of the total deal size on a global scale.
