The Japanese automobile manufacturer Toyota sold a total of 2.6 million vehicles (sales include electrified vehicles) in Q4 2022 and in Q3 2022 sold 2.5 million vehicles (sales include electrified vehicles). Toyota manufactures automobiles, vans, and trucks.

Toyota segregates its vehicle sales by geographic areas namely Japan (498 thousand vehicles), North America, Europe, Asia, and Other (Central and South America, Oceania, Africa, and The Middle East) with sales of 498 thousand, 589 thousand, 257 thousand, 425 thousand and 367 thousand vehicles respectively in Q4 2022. Apart from the conventional vehicles with internal combustion engines, Toyota also sold 639 thousand electrified vehicles in Q4 2022, which consisted of battery-powered electric vehicles (BEV); hybrid electric vehicles (HEV), fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEV), and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV)

Toyota generated about 90% of its total revenues from vehicle sales. Toyota also manufactures forklift trucks along with producing passenger cars during the year 2021.

In Q1 2021, the company reported a decline in sales because of supply shortages, fewer sales, and an increase in material costs, the firm's profit in the first quarter of 2021 was negatively impacted. and the company was unable to manufacture enough vehicles to meet the market demand.

Toyota initially started by concentrating on compact cars but eventually branched out to make pickups, SUVs, trucks, sports cars, and other automobiles.
