In the LTM period, August 2021 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $3,187.5 million, resulting in an average deal value of $62.5 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of November 2021 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 71 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $33.2 million during that month.
Of the 664 deals, the deal secured between SoftBank Group Corp and Yanolja Co Ltd, was the largest Private Equity/Venture Financing deal in the Asia-Pacific Business and Consumer Services sector, which was valued at $1,700.0 million and was completed on July 15, 2021. The second-largest deal was between First Sentier Investors Holdings Pty Ltd and Waste Management N.Z. Limited, while the third-largest deal was between Aware Super Pty Ltd; Potentia Capital Pty Ltd; TPG Global, LLC and Smartgroup Corporation Ltd. The First Sentier Investors Holdings Pty Ltd-Waste Management N.Z. Limited deal and the Aware Super Pty Ltd; Potentia Capital Pty Ltd; TPG Global, LLC-Smartgroup Corporation Ltd deal were valued at $1,319.3 million and $1,003.1 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between CVC Capital Partners Asia V L.P-Try Group Co., Ltd valued at $980.1 million, whereas the deal between Advantage Capital; CDH Investment Management Company Limited; Changzhou Xingyu Automotive Lighting Systems Co Ltd; China Shift Capital; DAZU Laser Technology Co. Ltd; Industrial Bank Co Ltd; PICC Capital Investment Management Company Limited; Sichuan Energy Investment Development Co Ltd; Taikang Investment-Honeycomb Energy valued at $941.8 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $5,944.3 million and accounted for nearly 26.91% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. The Asia-Pacific region accounted for 15.27% of the total Private Equity/Venture Financing deals done globally, and accounted for 2.61% of the total deal size on a global scale.
