In the LTM period, July 2021 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $11,416.2 million, resulting in an average deal value of $634.2 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of November 2021 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 29 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $76.0 million during that month.
Of the 246 deals, the deal secured between SMBC Aviation Capital and Goshawk Management (Ireland) Limited, was the largest M&A deal in the Europe Business and Consumer Services sector, which was valued at $6,700.0 million and was completed on May 16, 2022. The second-largest deal was between Attestor Capital LLP; Pon Holdings BV; Volkswagen Group and Europcar Mobility Group SA, while the third-largest deal was between APi Group Corp and Chubb Fire & Security Ltd. The Attestor Capital LLP; Pon Holdings BV; Volkswagen Group-Europcar Mobility Group SA deal and the APi Group Corp-Chubb Fire & Security Ltd deal were valued at $3,400.0 million and $3,100.0 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Corporation Service Co-Intertrust N.V. valued at $2,900.6 million, whereas the deal between Maverick Aviation Holdings Ltd.-Accipiter Finance S.a r.l. valued at $2,441.0 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $18,541.6 million and accounted for nearly 34.62% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. The Europe region accounted for 27.46% of the total M&A deals done globally, and accounted for 2.03% of the total deal size on a global scale.
