In the LTM period, January 2022 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $7,627.6 million, resulting in an average deal value of $177.4 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of December 2021 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 54 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $31.2 million during that month.
Of the 543 deals, the deal secured between Temasek Holdings (Private) Ltd and Element Materials Technology Group Holdings Ltd, was the largest Private Equity/Venture Financing deal in the Europe Business and Consumer Services sector, which was valued at $7,000.0 million and was completed on January 25, 2022. The second-largest deal was between Brookfield Asset Management Inc and HomeServe Plc, while the third-largest deal was between Platinum Equity LLC and Urbaser SA. The Brookfield Asset Management Inc-HomeServe Plc deal and the Platinum Equity LLC-Urbaser SA deal were valued at $5,832.3 million and $4,200.0 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Caisse de depot et placement du Quebec; DWS Group GmbH & Co KgaA-ERMEWA Group SA valued at $3,730.0 million, whereas the deal between EQT AB; Mubadala Capital-Envirotainer AB valued at $2,999.8 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $23,762.2 million and accounted for nearly 52.05% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. The Europe region accounted for 31.56% of the total Private Equity/Venture Financing deals done globally, and accounted for 2.17% of the total deal size on a global scale.
