The number of active job postings in the Business and Consumer Services sector of Germany increased by 0.52% MoM, and decreased by 11.73% since October 2023, reaching 6,336 active job postings in January 2024.
A total of 1,267 new jobs were posted in January 2024, witnessing a decrease of 2.24% as compared to the previous month. On the other hand, 1,234 jobs were closed in the same month implying that companies took out 24.2% fewer jobs than the month earlier. For the period from October 2023 to January 2024, the number of new jobs posted decreased by 25.21% and the number of jobs closed decreased by 39.24%
In terms of Compound Monthly Growth Rate (CMGR) between October 2023 and January 2024, the number of new jobs posted observed a negative growth rate of 9.23%, the number of active job postings observed a negative growth rate of 4.07% and the number of jobs closed observed a negative growth rate of 15.3%. Between October 2023 and January 2024, the average number of jobs posted stood at 1,389, number of jobs closed stood at 1,684 and number of active jobs stood at 6,613.
