The number of active job postings in the Business and Consumer Services sector of Hong Kong decreased by 7.04% MoM, and decreased by 16.69% since October 2023, reaching 634 active job postings in January 2024.
A total of 94 new jobs were posted in January 2024, witnessing a decrease of 18.97% as compared to the previous month. On the other hand, 142 jobs were closed in the same month implying that companies took out 12.88% fewer jobs than the month earlier. For the period from October 2023 to January 2024, the number of new jobs posted decreased by 50.79% and the number of jobs closed decreased by 50.18%
In terms of Compound Monthly Growth Rate (CMGR) between October 2023 and January 2024, the number of new jobs posted observed a negative growth rate of 21.05%, the number of active job postings observed a negative growth rate of 5.9% and the number of jobs closed observed a negative growth rate of 20.72%. Between October 2023 and January 2024, the average number of jobs posted stood at 142, number of jobs closed stood at 198 and number of active jobs stood at 701.
