The number of active job postings in the Business and Consumer Services sector of Japan decreased by 1.45% MoM, and decreased by 6.66% since October 2023, reaching 1,627 active job postings in January 2024.
A total of 81 new jobs were posted in January 2024, witnessing a decrease of 62.84% as compared to the previous month. On the other hand, 105 jobs were closed in the same month implying that companies took out 57.32% fewer jobs than the month earlier. For the period from October 2023 to January 2024, the number of new jobs posted decreased by 69.55% and the number of jobs closed decreased by 61.82%
In terms of Compound Monthly Growth Rate (CMGR) between October 2023 and January 2024, the number of new jobs posted observed a negative growth rate of 32.72%, the number of active job postings observed a negative growth rate of 2.27% and the number of jobs closed observed a negative growth rate of 27.45%. Between October 2023 and January 2024, the average number of jobs posted stood at 211, number of jobs closed stood at 242 and number of active jobs stood at 1,675.
