A total of 91 Private Equity/Venture Financing deals (pending and completed) were announced in the Business and Consumer Services of the Middle East and Africa region, in the last twelve months resulting in a total deal value of over $780.5 million. In the LTM period, December 2021 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $200.9 million, resulting in an average deal value of $33.5 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of March 2022 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 11 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $10.8 million during that month.
Of the 91 deals, the deal secured between TPG Rise Climate and UBQ Materials, was the largest Private Equity/Venture Financing deal in the Middle East and Africa Business and Consumer Services sector, which was valued at $170.0 million and was completed on December 14, 2021. The second-largest deal was between General Atlantic LLC and Atera, while the third-largest deal was between Insight Partners; S Capital VC; Tiger Global Management LLC; TLV Partners, L.P. and Run:AI. The General Atlantic LLC-Atera deal and the Insight Partners; S Capital VC; Tiger Global Management LLC; TLV Partners, L.P.-Run:AI deal were valued at $77.0 million and $75.0 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Sky Fund-Dolce Vita Way of Life Ltd valued at $47.9 million, whereas the deal between Global Emerging Markets-Millennial Star Cosmetics Trading LLC valued at $35.0 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $404.9 million and accounted for nearly 51.88% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. The Middle East and Africa region accounted for 0.54% of the total Private Equity/Venture Financing deals done globally, and accounted for 0.32% of the total deal size on a global scale.
