The number of active job postings in the Business and Consumer Services sector of New Zealand increased by 15.99% MoM, and decreased by 14.56% since October 2023, reaching 399 active job postings in January 2024.
A total of 121 new jobs were posted in January 2024, witnessing an increase of 55.13% as compared to the previous month. On the other hand, 66 jobs were closed in the same month implying that companies took out 68.27% fewer jobs than the month earlier. For the period from October 2023 to January 2024, the number of new jobs posted decreased by 13.57% and the number of jobs closed decreased by 61.4%
In terms of Compound Monthly Growth Rate (CMGR) between October 2023 and January 2024, the number of new jobs posted observed a negative growth rate of 4.75%, the number of active job postings observed a negative growth rate of 5.11% and the number of jobs closed observed a negative growth rate of 27.19%. Between October 2023 and January 2024, the average number of jobs posted stood at 110, number of jobs closed stood at 135 and number of active jobs stood at 421.
