The number of active job postings in the Chemicals sector of Canada decreased by 5.17% MoM, and decreased by 18.66% since October 2023, reaching 898 active job postings in January 2024.
A total of 354 new jobs were posted in January 2024, witnessing an increase of 42.74% as compared to the previous month. On the other hand, 403 jobs were closed in the same month implying that companies took out 33.89% more jobs than the month earlier. For the period from October 2023 to January 2024, the number of new jobs posted decreased by 16.11% and the number of jobs closed increased by 4.95%
In terms of Compound Monthly Growth Rate (CMGR) between October 2023 and January 2024, the number of new jobs posted observed a negative growth rate of 5.69%, the number of active job postings observed a negative growth rate of 6.65% and the number of jobs closed observed a growth rate of 1.62%. Between October 2023 and January 2024, the average number of jobs posted stood at 345, number of jobs closed stood at 387 and number of active jobs stood at 987.
