In the LTM period, April 2022 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $1,315.4 million, resulting in an average deal value of $146.2 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of April 2022 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 9 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $146.2 million during that month.
Of the 57 deals, the deal secured between Amanat Lebuhraya Rakyat Berhad and Lingkaran Trans Kota Sdn Bhd, was the largest M&A deal in the Malaysia Construction sector, which was valued at $503.1 million and was completed on April 2, 2022. The second-largest deal was between Amanat Lebuhraya Rakyat Berhad and Sistem Penyuraian Trafik KL Barat Sdn Bhd, while the third-largest deal was between Amanat Lebuhraya Rakyat Berhad and Kesas Sdn Bhd. The Amanat Lebuhraya Rakyat Berhad-Sistem Penyuraian Trafik KL Barat Sdn Bhd deal and the Amanat Lebuhraya Rakyat Berhad-Kesas Sdn Bhd deal were valued at $429.3 million and $294.4 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between M&A Securities Sdn Bhd-SYF Resources Berhad valued at $160.4 million, whereas the deal between OM Materials (S) Pte Ltd; Samalaju Industries Sdn Bhd-OM Materials (Samalaju) Sdn Bhd; OM Materials (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd valued at $120.0 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $1,507.2 million and accounted for nearly 69.57% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months.
