The number of active job postings in the Construction sector of New Zealand decreased by 10.09% MoM, and decreased by 23.16% since October 2023, reaching 1,025 active job postings in January 2024.
A total of 141 new jobs were posted in January 2024, witnessing a decrease of 43.6% as compared to the previous month. On the other hand, 256 jobs were closed in the same month implying that companies took out 51.52% fewer jobs than the month earlier. For the period from October 2023 to January 2024, the number of new jobs posted decreased by 49.1% and the number of jobs closed decreased by 15.51%
In terms of Compound Monthly Growth Rate (CMGR) between October 2023 and January 2024, the number of new jobs posted observed a negative growth rate of 20.16%, the number of active job postings observed a negative growth rate of 8.41% and the number of jobs closed observed a negative growth rate of 5.46%. Between October 2023 and January 2024, the average number of jobs posted stood at 306, number of jobs closed stood at 389 and number of active jobs stood at 1,229.
