In the LTM period, June 2021 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $7,048.2 million, resulting in an average deal value of $503.4 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of November 2021 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 26 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $127.1 million during that month.
Of the 244 deals, the deal secured between AustralianSuper Pty Ltd; Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan and Greencross Ltd, was the largest M&A deal in the Asia-Pacific Consumer sector, which was valued at $3,500.0 million and was completed on June 7, 2021. The second-largest deal was between EMART Inc and eBay Korea Co., Ltd., while the third-largest deal was between Plateau Consumer Ltd and China Resources C'estbon Beverage (China) Co., Ltd.. The EMART Inc-eBay Korea Co., Ltd. deal and the Plateau Consumer Ltd-China Resources C'estbon Beverage (China) Co., Ltd. deal were valued at $3,061.6 million and $1,000.0 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between SK Networks Co Ltd-Zinus Inc valued at $924.0 million, whereas the deal between Carrier Global Corp-Toshiba Carrier Corporation valued at $868.0 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $9,353.6 million and accounted for nearly 36.25% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. The Asia-Pacific region accounted for 18.90% of the total M&A deals done globally, and accounted for 2.69% of the total deal size on a global scale.
