A total of 650 Private Equity/Venture Financing deals (pending and completed) were announced in the Consumer of the Asia-Pacific region, in the last twelve months resulting in a total deal value of over $19,310.2 million. In the LTM period, July 2021 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $3,694.6 million, resulting in an average deal value of $66.0 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of January 2022 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 77 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $13.7 million during that month.
Of the 650 deals, the deal secured between IMM Private Equity Inc; Lotte Corp; Saudi Agricultural and Livestock Investment Company and Hanssem Co Ltd; Olam Agri Holdings Pte Ltd, was the largest Private Equity/Venture Financing deal in the Asia-Pacific Consumer sector, which was valued at $1,240.0 million and was completed on July 14, 2021. The second-largest deal was between FountainVest Partners and Ziwi Pets, while the third-largest deal was between EMART Inc; GIC Pte Ltd and Starbucks Coffee Korea Co., Ltd.. The FountainVest Partners-Ziwi Pets deal and the EMART Inc; GIC Pte Ltd-Starbucks Coffee Korea Co., Ltd. deal were valued at $1,054.5 million and $696.0 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Advent International Corp-Eureka Forbes Ltd valued at $597.1 million, whereas the deal between CPE Yuanfeng; GardenVenture; Huaxing New Economy Fund; Xiaomi Group-Chaim Technology (Suzhou) Co Ltd valued at $562.8 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $4,827.6 million and accounted for nearly 25.00% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. The Asia-Pacific region accounted for 25.01% of the total Private Equity/Venture Financing deals done globally, and accounted for 3.26% of the total deal size on a global scale.
