In the LTM period, December 2021 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $8,176.8 million, resulting in an average deal value of $247.8 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of May 2022 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 37 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $6.8 million during that month.
Of the 387 deals, the deal secured between 3G Capital Inc and Hunter Douglas NV, was the largest Private Equity/Venture Financing deal in the Europe Consumer sector, which was valued at $7,100.0 million and was completed on December 30, 2021. The second-largest deal was between CVC Capital Partners Fund VIII and Ekaterra, while the third-largest deal was between Advent International Corp; CVC Advisers Ltd and Irca S.r.L.; Stock Spirits Group PLC. The CVC Capital Partners Fund VIII-Ekaterra deal and the Advent International Corp; CVC Advisers Ltd-Irca S.r.L.; Stock Spirits Group PLC deal were valued at $5,104.5 million and $1,100.0 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Bain Capital LP-Berlin Brands Group valued at $700.0 million, whereas the deal between CVC Strategic Opportunities II-Sonae MC valued at $626.5 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $15,104.5 million and accounted for nearly 61.89% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. The Europe region accounted for 31.61% of the total Private Equity/Venture Financing deals done globally, and accounted for 2.71% of the total deal size on a global scale.
