In the LTM period, June 2022 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $628.7 million, resulting in an average deal value of $209.6 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of May 2022 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 6 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $1.8 million during that month.
Of the 53 deals, the deal secured between Zomato Ltd and Blinkit, was the largest M&A deal in the India Consumer sector, which was valued at $568.8 million and was completed on June 25, 2022. The second-largest deal was between Tencent Cloud Europe BV and Flipkart Internet Pvt Ltd, while the third-largest deal was between Tencent Corp. and Flipkart Internet Pvt Ltd. The Tencent Cloud Europe BV-Flipkart Internet Pvt Ltd deal and the Tencent Corp.-Flipkart Internet Pvt Ltd deal were valued at $264.0 million and $250.0 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Thras.io Inc-Lifelong Online Retail Pvt Ltd valued at $200.0 million, whereas the deal between Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd-Butterfly Gandhimathi Appliances Limited valued at $185.0 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $1,467.8 million and accounted for nearly 63.97% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months.
