Despite falling birth rates during the past three years, the baby care sector in China remains resilient; the industry recorded a low single-digit YoY growth in 2020.  

Wyeth, Pampers, Nutricia, Huggies, and Feifan were the leading brands in the baby care market in China in 2020. Owned by Nestle, Procter & Gamble (P&G), Feihe International, Danone Group, and Kimberly-Clark Corporation.

Baby Care Includes baby cereals, dry meals, baby drinks, baby finger foods like baby biscuits, fruit snacks, rice cakes, breadsticks, baby cereal bars, dippers, puffs, and savory snacks, powdered or liquid milk, personal care i.e., products for bath time use designed specifically for babies, which includes bubble baths and body washes, all this targeted specifically at babies aged 4-36 months. 

Nestle leads the way seizing almost one-tenth of China's baby care market 

Nestle secured maximum sales by value in the baby care industry in China in 2020. Wyeth, a brand owned by Nestle, alone held a major share in China's baby care market by value in 2020. 

Feihe International ranked second in the baby care market in China  

Feihe International, the trademark owner of Feifan, AstroBaby, Feirui, Feihui, Feiyue, and Super Feifan, held a high single-digit market share in China's baby care market by value in 2020. 

The other market leading positions were held by Procter & Gamble, Kimberly-Clark Corporation, and Danone Group 

Procter & Gamble and Kimberly-Clark Corporation held the third and fourth-largest market share in the baby care market in China 

Nutricia, Cow & Gate, and Happy Baby brands were the leading brands owned by Danone Group. Huggies was a key brand, owned by Kimberly-Clark Corporation in China’s baby care market. 

Market Fragmentation: No player accounted for greater than one-tenth of the Chinese Baby care market (by value) in 2020
