The number of active job postings in the Banking and Payments sector of the Asia-Pacific region decreased by 6.17% MoM, and decreased by 15.69% since October 2023, reaching 70,455 active job postings in January 2024.
A total of 16,690 new jobs were posted in January 2024, witnessing an increase of 3.36% as compared to the previous month. On the other hand, 21,320 jobs were closed in the same month implying that companies took out 20.86% fewer jobs than the month earlier. For the period from October 2023 to January 2024, the number of new jobs posted decreased by 10.58% and the number of jobs closed increased by 14.3%
In terms of Compound Monthly Growth Rate (CMGR) between October 2023 and January 2024, the number of new jobs posted observed a negative growth rate of 3.66%, the number of active job postings observed a negative growth rate of 5.53% and the number of jobs closed observed a growth rate of 4.56%. Between October 2023 and January 2024, the average number of jobs posted stood at 17,668, number of jobs closed stood at 20,944 and number of active jobs stood at 78,746.
