India: Job Trends in the Financial Services Sector (October 2023 - January 2024)

The number of active job postings in the Financial Services sector of India decreased by 2.3% MoM, and decreased by 14.99% since October 2023, reaching 46,937 active job postings in January 2024.
A total of 11,165 new jobs were posted in January 2024, witnessing an increase of 2% as compared to the previous month. On the other hand, 12,269 jobs were closed in the same month implying that companies took out 41.85% fewer jobs than the month earlier. For the period from October 2023 to January 2024, the number of new jobs posted decreased by 3.05% and the number of jobs closed increased by 16.32%
In terms of Compound Monthly Growth Rate (CMGR) between October 2023 and January 2024, the number of new jobs posted observed a negative growth rate of 1.03%, the number of active job postings observed a negative growth rate of 5.27% and the number of jobs closed observed a growth rate of 5.17%. Between October 2023 and January 2024, the average number of jobs posted stood at 12,064, number of jobs closed stood at 13,891 and number of active jobs stood at 52,095.
