Ireland: Job Trends in the Banking and Payments Sector (October 2023 - January 2024)

  • The number of active job postings in the Banking and Payments sector of Ireland decreased by 7.66% MoM, and decreased by 22.76% since October 2023, reaching 964 active job postings in January 2024.

  • A total of 381 new jobs were posted in January 2024, witnessing an increase of 17.96% as compared to the previous month. On the other hand, 461 jobs were closed in the same month implying that companies took out 2.22% more jobs than the month earlier. For the period from October 2023 to January 2024, the number of new jobs posted decreased by 26.73% and the number of jobs closed decreased by 18.41%

  • In terms of Compound Monthly Growth Rate (CMGR) between October 2023 and January 2024, the number of new jobs posted observed a negative growth rate of 9.85%, the number of active job postings observed a negative growth rate of 8.25% and the number of jobs closed observed a negative growth rate of 6.56%. Between October 2023 and January 2024, the average number of jobs posted stood at 438, number of jobs closed stood at 520 and number of active jobs stood at 1,107.
