North America: Job Trends in the Banking and Payments Sector (October 2023 - January 2024)

  • The number of active job postings in the Banking and Payments sector of the North America region decreased by 6.47% MoM, and decreased by 14.73% since October 2023, reaching 105,980 active job postings in January 2024.

  • A total of 34,458 new jobs were posted in January 2024, witnessing an increase of 4.71% as compared to the previous month. On the other hand, 41,795 jobs were closed in the same month implying that companies took out 0.54% fewer jobs than the month earlier. For the period from October 2023 to January 2024, the number of new jobs posted decreased by 24.89% and the number of jobs closed decreased by 7.73%

  • In terms of Compound Monthly Growth Rate (CMGR) between October 2023 and January 2024, the number of new jobs posted observed a negative growth rate of 9.1%, the number of active job postings observed a negative growth rate of 5.17% and the number of jobs closed observed a negative growth rate of 2.65%. Between October 2023 and January 2024, the average number of jobs posted stood at 38,486, number of jobs closed stood at 42,920 and number of active jobs stood at 116,505.
